EHR Vendor Fair
Incentive funding available to help providers adopt EHRs
Funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Payment Program incentivizes the adoption and meaningful use of certified electronic health record technology (CEHRT) to improve care coordination, health outcomes and diagnostics.
Since 2011, more than 100 eligible hospitals and nearly 2,500 eligible providers in Louisiana have received more than $250 million in federal incentives through the program, yet these numbers represent only 30 percent of the state’s eligible Medicaid providers, according to estimates by the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH).
Recognizing the value of EHR technology to both patients and providers, the LDH has announced an EHR vendor and clearinghouse vendor fair to be held Wed., Oct. 26, 2016, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., in Room 118 of its Bienville building, located at 628 North 4th St. in Baton Rouge. The event will be an open forum for providers to learn about available EHR and clearinghouse technology as well as the EHR Incentive Payment Program.
Eligible providers must begin participating in the program by Dec. 31, 2016, in order to receive annual incentive payments in the future. After this date, providers will no longer be able to apply for these financial incentives. Additional information about the program will be available onsite.
Providers interested in attending the event are encouraged to RSVP via email to Destiny.Rohmfield@la.gov or by phone, 225-342-7738.
