Our culture, systems and organization target the Quadruple Aim: better health, better care, lower cost and better provider work-life. With a focus on continuous quality improvement, we’re proud of the success we’ve demonstrated so far in independent, third-party measures.
We achieved overall improvement in more than 90 percent of the HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) measures targeted by the Louisiana Department of Health for the 2014-2017 contract period.
|Well-Child 15 Months||52.64||58.54|
|Well-Child 3 to 6 Years||60.82||67.92|
|F/U Hospital for BH||28.22||38.65|
|Childhood Immunization Status - Combination 2||60.00||73.24|
|CDC - HbA1c Screening||81.86||84.43|
From 2017 to 2018, we achieved an 11 percent reduction in preventable hospital readmissions. That means our members received better care in the hospital, experienced fewer preventable rehospitalizations and Louisiana enjoyed lower healthcare costs.
#1 in Member Satisfaction
Because more than 60 percent of our employees have had personal experience with Medicaid, they bring genuine empathy, compassion and concern for our members—and it shows. Our members have consistently recognized Louisiana Healthcare Connections with member satisfaction ratings above 90 percent.
#1 in Provider Satisfaction
Providers are our most important partner in transforming Louisiana’s health and we think our local, collaborative approach is reflected in their satisfaction ratings too. In 2018, Louisiana Healthcare Connections ranked first among Healthy Louisiana plans with the largest number of “very satisfied” providers and scored the highest for being “Better than Other MCOs.”
#1 in Quality Reviews
With an overall score above 99 percent, Louisiana Healthcare Connections was first among all health plans in the last two independent external quality review audits. And we’re proud to be one of only two health plans to earn a 100 percent score for our fraud, waste and abuse prevention program.
Louisiana Healthcare Connections is accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA accreditation is a comprehensive evaluation of health plan operations, programs, clinical performance and consumer experience measures.
