ABA Services Transition – Effective July 1, 2025

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving care delivery and streamlining provider processes, Louisiana Healthcare Connections has ended its partnership with Magellan for the management of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) service authorizations. Effective April 1, 2025, all ABA service authorizations are now managed directly by Louisiana Healthcare Connections.

What This Means for ABA Providers
We deeply value the dedication of our ABA providers in supporting the unique needs of children and families. This transition is designed to simplify the authorization process, enhance care coordination, and improve outcomes for our members.

Key Updates

Beginning July 1, 2025:

ABA service authorization requests should be submitted directly to Louisiana Healthcare Connections through the new fax number: 1-844-720-2029.

Clinical Policy Update – Effective July 1, 2025
Beginning July 1, 2025, InterQual will serve as the updated clinical criteria for ABA services. This change aligns with current state policy and supports greater clarity and compliance.
