Louisiana Healthcare Connections is inviting expectant mothers, new moms, families, and community members to attend its upcoming Maternal Health Matters event on Saturday, July 11, at Ponchatoula Area Recreation District 1.

Held from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the recreation center, the free community event is designed to support healthy pregnancies, healthy births, and healthy families by connecting attendees with maternal health resources, educational information, and local community partners. Expectant moms and families with young children can enjoy free food, healthy food demonstrations, wellness and relaxation activities, games and giveaways, health information and screenings, and opportunities to learn more about services available before, during, and after pregnancy.

"Every mother deserves access to the support, education, and healthcare resources she needs to have a healthy pregnancy and a strong start for her baby," said Tanzel Montgomery, Community Relations Manager for Louisiana Healthcare Connections. "Maternal Health Matters brings together trusted community partners and healthcare resources to help empower women and families throughout their maternal health journey."
