Baton Rouge, La. – Louisiana Healthcare Connections has been named one of the 2020 Best Places to Work in Baton Rouge. The Healthy Louisiana Medicaid health plan employs more than 425 in the Greater Baton Rouge area, and has two offices in the capital city.

“Transforming health in our state is our mission and our passion at Louisiana Healthcare Connections,” said CEO Jamie Schlottman. “This spirit of caring is what unites and drives our employees, and we are very pleased that our team members find their roles here so rewarding. We are honored to be one of Baton Rouge’s Best Places to Work, and truly grateful for all that our employees do to improve health in Louisiana.”

The Best Places to Work awards are dedicated to identifying and recognizing companies that exemplify what it means to truly care about employees. Louisiana Healthcare Connections has more than 700 employees across the state, with additional offices in Lafayette, New Orleans, and Covington. The company’s Employee Engagement Committee, innovative recognition programs, professional development opportunities and volunteerism activities are among the factors highlighted in the success of its workplace culture.

“Our workplace culture is built on a simple motto: do good, have fun, grow careers,” said Jan Rivers, Senior Director of Human Resources. “We believe in rewarding community and workplace spirit and supporting professional growth and advancement for all our employees, but most importantly, we are committed to ensuring that our employees enjoy a healthy work/life balance. By empowering our employees and investing in their career growth, Louisiana Healthcare Connections continuously strives to be a Best Place to Work.”

Companies are selected as a Best Place to Work based on a combination of workplace policies, practices and demographics and a survey of employees that measures the employee experience. Winners were announced on Sept. 15, 2020, at a virtual ceremony hosted by the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report.
