Watch Your Mail for a New Member ID Card With Updated Pharmacy Info

Date: 08/22/25

Starting October 1, 2025, Louisiana Healthcare Connections will partner with Express Scripts to manage pharmacy benefits for our Medicaid members. Because we have updated the pharmacy information on your Member ID card, we are sending you a new one.

Your pharmacy benefit is not changing.

These updates do not affect your benefits, copays, or prescriptions. Louisiana Healthcare Connections and Express Scripts will still use the same Preferred Drug List (PDL) that all Healthy Louisiana Medicaid plans follow. Any current prior authorizations will be transferred to Express Scripts. You and your doctor don’t need to do anything to keep your approvals.

Your new Member ID card is on the way.

Start using your updated Member ID card on October 1. Until then, keep using your current card.

Be on the lookout for your new Member ID card in the mail. It lists Express Scripts on the front and has new pharmacy-related numbers. Beginning October 1, your pharmacy will need these new numbers to fill your prescriptions and refills.

Here’s what the new card looks like:

Member ID card with updated pharmacy information

If you have not received an updated Member ID card in the mail by October 1, 2025, it could mean that your contact information is not up to date in our records. Please call us at 1-866-595-8133 (TTY: 711), Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. We will update your mailing address and send you a new card.

Please note: Pharmacy information is not changing for fee-for-service Medicaid and Louisiana Healthcare Connections members with behavioral health benefits only. These members will NOT receive a new card.

Access your Member ID card anywhere, anytime.

The digital cards in your secure member portal account and in LA Wallet will also be updated. To access your Member ID card from your phone, create a member portal account and download the LA Wallet app for Apple or Android.

Your pharmacy network might change.

Most pharmacies in Louisiana accept Express Scripts. And more are being added to their network to serve our members. Starting on October 1, you can find all in-network pharmacies near you by using our online Find a Provider tool. If your pharmacy is not in network, we will contact you. We can also help you find another pharmacy.
