We want to know what you think about your health plan as a Louisiana Healthcare Connections member. When members speak up, we listen — and that feedback helps us build the health plan and resources you count on.
This spring, a group of members will be chosen at random to take the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (CAHPS) survey. This helps us hear from a wide range of voices and get honest feedback about the health plan. Every response helps us understand what matters most to our members.
Why should I take the survey?
You’ll have a special opportunity to speak up and help us understand what’s most important to members like you. Not all members will be invited to take the CAHPS survey. If you are, we hope you’ll take the time to respond and share your experience.
The survey asks questions like:
- How easy was it to get care when you needed it?
- Did your doctor spend enough time with you and treat you with respect?
- Did you get the information or help you needed from your health plan?
The questions are multiple choice. Just mark the answer that is right for you.
How do I take the survey?
An independent research firm will help us conduct the survey. They will randomly select a group of members to take the survey. If you are selected, you will receive the survey in the mail in March. The survey will take around 20 minutes to complete. It can be submitted online or by mail. Instructions will be in your letter.
What will my health plan do with my responses?
Your answers will not have your name on them and will be part of a pool of information from others like you. Individual responses will not be shared with Louisiana Healthcare Connections or your providers, so you can feel free to share your honest opinion.
Your survey answers help us to:
- understand how easy it is for you to get care
- understand your experience with your health care providers
- give you the health care services you need and want
Feedback from members like you has helped us shape the tools and resources you benefit from today. Your survey answers will also be used as a part of health plan quality ratings. These ratings can be helpful when comparing and choosing a health plan.
If you choose not to answer the survey, it will not affect your coverage in any way.
How long do I have to complete the survey?
The last day to submit the survey is May 15. So if you receive it, please be sure to complete it by then! If you already took the survey, we thank you for helping to make health care better!
