2018-15: 2018 HCPCS and Fee Schedule Updates

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) has completed an update of the 2018 Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS). LDH has announced that the Louisiana Medicaid files have been updated to reflect the new and deleted codes effective for dates of service Jan. 1, 2018, and after.
The following fee schedules have been updated to reflect the new 2018 procedure codes and were posted to the Louisiana Medicaid website, www.lamedicaid.com, in January and February 2018:
- Home Health
- Immunization
- American Indians 638 Facilities Rates
- Outpatient Hospital Ambulatory Surgery
- Outpatient Hospital Services
- Professional Services
- Laboratory and Radiology
- Ambulatory Surgical Centers (non-hospital)
Louisiana Healthcare Connections is updating its system to reflect these fee schedule changes. Claims that have been denied due to the new 2018 codes prior to their addition to the claims processing system, will be recycled with no action required by providers. Claims will be recycled and reprocessed no later than March 19, 2018.
