2019-09: LDH Issues Health Plan Advisory for 2019 HCPCS and Physician- Administered Drug Reimbursement Updates.
Date: 02/11/19
The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) has issued a Health Plan Advisory for the 2019 Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS).
HPA19-03: LDH is updating the Medicaid files to reflect new and deleted procedure codes for 2019. The pertinent fee-for-service fee schedules have been updated and are published on the Louisiana Medicaid website, www.lamedicaid.com.
Louisiana Medicaid also updated the reimbursement rates for physician-administered drugs and payable vaccines in the physician office to align with the Medicare 2019 Average Sales Price (ASP) drug rates or wholesale acquisition cost. The rate changes are reflected on the Professional Services, Take Charge Plus and applicable Immunization fee schedules effective as of Jan. 1, 2019.
Louisiana Healthcare Connections understands the critical nature of these changes and will update our system to reflect these procedure codes within 30 days of the published Medicaid fee schedule changes.
Any claims that are denied due to the new 2019 codes will be reprocessed no later than 15 days after the completion of the system update. No further action is required from providers. Please click here to review the complete HPA.
