2019-33: Office Closure and Response Update to TS Barry (Updated)
Date: 07/11/19
Revised: August 7, 2019
All emergency-related changes ended on July 15, 2019.
In response to Tropical Storm Barry and uncertainty through the state, we are working to ensure our members have access to needed care, medications and medical equipment.
Pharmacy
We have removed prior authorization requirements on out-of-network pharmacies and early refills, to make sure our members can get the medicine they need. We are reaching out to our members who have special health care needs and who live in the affected areas to ensure they have access to the care, medications and other resources they may need.
Durable Medical Equipment, Home Health, Rehabilitation and Personal Care Services
Members in the declared parishes, who may have lost durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies, may contact any DME provider contracted with us to obtain a replacement. A new prescription and medical documentation for replacement should not be required.
Members who were approved to receive medical equipment, supplies, home health services, rehabilitation or personal care services from a provider in a declared parish who is unable to provide approved equipment, supplies or services may obtain any previously approved items or services from a new provider of their choice.
Closure
Due to Tropical Storm Barry and state office closures, all Louisiana Healthcare Connections offices will be closed Friday, July 12, 2019. We will continue to monitor the effects of Tropical Storm Barry and will be posting updates concerning our response and operations on our website at www.LouisianaHealthConnect.com.
Thank you for providing outstanding care for our members during this difficult time.
