FQHC and RHC: No MEI Rate Letter Required
Date: 07/23/20
In light of recent questions, we want to remind Federally Qualified Health Clinics (FQHC) and Rural Health Clinics (RHC) that annual MEI rate letters are no longer required. The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) issued Health Plan Advisory 16-20 in 2016 removing the requirement for annual MEI rate letters.
In this advisory, which became effective July 1, 2016, providers were advised that FQHCs would no longer receive a letter notifying them of their new annual PPS rate. The new annual rate for each facility appears on the Medicaid fee schedule for FQHCs. The annual PPS rate can be obtained at any time on the fee schedule published at www.lamedicaid.com under the fee schedules link. The updated fee schedule serves as notice of the new annual PPS rate for each FQHC, and no letter will be mailed.
Louisiana Healthcare Connections configures its systems based on that fee schedule, and does not require an MEI letter from FQHC or RHC providers.
