2024 Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System Update (IB 24-01)

Louisiana Healthcare Connections is sharing a recent update to the 2024 Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (IB 24-1).

Several fee schedules (e.g. DMEPOS, Professional Services, Laboratory and Radiology, etc.) on the Louisiana Medicaid website will be updated as they may contain discontinued and/or manually added new codes. Louisiana Medicaid will updae the Medicaid fee-for-service files to reflect new and deleted procedure codes for 2024. The intent is to have the 2024 procedure codes on file with the applicable fee schedules updated and published as quickly as possible. Providers are encouraged to monitor lamedicaid.com for future announcements associated with the full implementation of the 2024 Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System updates. 

Louisiana Healthcare Connections will be updated our claims processing systems with any additions, changes, or deletions to ensure 2024 claims processing delays are minimized for providers. 

Updates to our systems will be made promptly to include the 2024 HCPCS updates and will recycle denied claims related to the 2024 codes not being on file and any rate changes within 15 days from when fee schedules are published.
