Availity Essentials-New Features Coming April 21st and Provider Training Registration

Louisiana Healthcare Connections will soon have new features on Availity Essentials, including the ability to submit a corrected claim, on finalized claims (e.g., paid, denied) view and reconcile remittances, complete an integrated InterQual review within the Authorization Request, and use PCP Notifications (not available in LA at this time) to track patients’ hospital progress.

On April 21, select health plans will have the following new functionality available on Essentials:

  • Claim Corrections – On a finalized claim, submit correct claim from the Claim Status Response page.
  • Remittance Viewer - Locate remittances with ease using the extensive search and filter options. You can also review and reconcile detailed remittance data in an easy-to-read format and gain visibility into claims associated with a check/EFT by downloading a Check Summary.
  • InterQual - Complete an InterQual review within the authorization request to help facilitate the authorization review process. When completing an Authorization Request in Essentials, select the Take Me to InterQual button.
  • PCP Notifications** – PCP Notifications alert you of a patient's admission, discharge, and hospital transfer (ADT) status to help you provide follow-up care.

**PCP Notifications will not be available in Louisiana at this time.

Providers will be able to join live trainings on Claims Corrections and Remittance Viewer.

Below is the live training schedule for providers (they can register here), which can be shared with providers:

  • Monday, April 21st, 2 p.m. CST
  • Tuesday, April 22nd, 12 p.m. CST 
  • Wednesday, April 23rd, 11 a.m. CST 
  • Thursday, April 24th, 3 p.m. CST
