Grants to Fund Accessibility Improvements Announced

Date: 02/05/21

Louisiana Healthcare Connections has partnered with the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) to assist our providers with improving accessibility at their practices. By creating the Barrier Removal Fund program, providers are invited to apply for grant funds to support the removal of physical and programmatic disability access barriers at participating locations where members are seen.

We are committed to providing equal access to quality health care and services that are accessible for our members with disabilities and their companions. Physical access (also referred to as architectural access), refers to the ability to access buildings, structures, and the environment, particularly for persons with disabilities.

Providers interested in consideration for grant funding must submit a completed RFP by 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 28, 2021.

Visit NCIL’s Provider Accessibility Initiative webpage to learn more about the PAI and Barrier Removal Fund. Providers may also contact their dedicated provider network specialist for additional information.
