2021-20: Securing and Accelerating Electronic BH UM Authorization Requests Through the Secure Provider Portal

To increase information security and facilitate faster authorization reviews for providers, Louisiana Healthcare Connections is consolidating behavioral health inpatient and outpatient authorization requests through the secure provider portal. The secure portal is the safest way to keep protected health information secure, and will accelerate reviews.

After September 2, 2021, behavioral health inpatient and outpatient authorization requests may no longer be submitted via the email address UMBHmedicalrecords@LOUISIANAHEALTHCONNECT.COM, which will be deactivated. Behavioral health providers using this email address are encouraged to transition to submitting requests via our secure portal.

Fax options for submitting requests remain unchanged: for in-patient behavioral health authorizations: 1-866-698-6341; for out-patient behavioral health authorizations: 1-844-466-1277.
