COVID-19 Provider Update (IB 20-5 revised 9.27.22)

On September 27, 2022, the Louisiana Department of Health revised Informational Bulletin 20-5: COVID-19 Provider Update.

The revision included language to the Testing and Treatment Coverage section. 

Treatment medications purchased from the commercial marketplace may be reimbursed if appended with the appropriate modifier, as listed in the COVID-19 Vaccine and Treatment Fee Schedule. 

Louisiana Healthcare Connections will edit claims to ensure that reimbursement is only made for treatment administration when performed appropriately.

This policy will be updated as needed for changes in medication availability and eligibility criteria. Abuse or overuse is subject to review and recoupment.
