Flood Response Update

Date: 08/14/16

We are saddened by the floods that have devastated communities across Louisiana this weekend. Our thoughts are with our members, providers and coworkers who have been affected, and we are grateful for the first responders and neighbors helping those in need.

Due to the flooding, our offices in Baton Rouge and Lafayette will be closed on Monday, August 15, 2016. We are monitoring the situation and will re-open offices as soon as it is safe to do so.

Our call center will be operating at reduced capacity to serve members and providers who have urgent needs. If you have a routine question or issue that is not urgent, please wait to call. This will allow us to focus on those with the most urgent needs.

Our 24/7 phone lines will remain fully operational:

  • 24/7 nurse advice: 1-866-595-8133
  • 24/7 mental health or substance use crisis: 1-844-677-7553

We are reaching out to our members who have special health care needs and who live in the affected areas, to ensure they have access to the care, medications and other resources they need.

If you are a Louisiana Healthcare Connections member in need of medicines or medical supplies to replace what has been lost in flooding, we are here to help. We have relaxed authorization requirements in the affected areas to make sure you can get the replacement medicines and supplies you need as quickly as possible.

Also, we want to remind you that we do not require referrals for you to see a doctor. If you have relocated and need to see a doctor or go to urgent care, please do so. You can find doctors, pharmacies, urgent care clinics and other providers online at ProviderSearch.LouisianaHealthConnect.com.

For Our Coworkers

Due to the flooding, our offices in Baton Rouge and Lafayette will be closed on Monday. The Covington and New Orleans offices will be open.

Safety is our top priority: Please keep your supervisor updated about your situation. If you have not yet checked in with them and can reach them via email, text, social media or phone, please do so as soon as possible.

Lastly, several members of our Louisiana Healthcare Connections family have had their homes flooded – please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
