FREE Virtual Peer Training Series - CEUs Available

Louisiana Healthcare Connections would like to share information about a FREE virtual training series provided by Faces & Voices of Recovery.
Training will be held on April 13, May 18, and June 8, 2022, from 1:00-4:30 PM. Recognized Peer Support Specialist CEUs are available for this training series. Faces & Voices of Recovery are working on CEU approval for Social Workers and Licensed Professional Counselors for the training in June, The Science of Addiction and Recovery.
April 13, 2022: Role Clarity: Case Management vs Peer Support
This session will focus on the importance of both case management and peer support work, and their different roles in the continuum of care. Participants will gain clarity on their particular role and how to create holistic, community-based services that help to facilitate recovery and enable peers to reach their own wellness goals.
May 18, 2022: Advanced Skills in Peer Ethics, Values, & Boundaries
Advanced Ethics aims to enhance the abilities of peers to safeguard the welfare of the people they provide services to; protect confidentiality to establish and sustain trust with individuals facing life challenges while enriching the quality of work they produce. This includes a deeper dive into ethical dilemmas.
June 8, 2022: The Science of Addiction in Recovery (SOAR)
SOAR: The Science of Addiction & Recovery aims to provide recovery support providers with the knowledge and skills to speak on the topic of addiction in a language that is easy to understand. Topics include neuroscience, debunking common myths, and identifying vulnerability factors in the peers we serve.
