Expansion of Mental Health Professionals – Notification of Claims Denials (Revised IB 24-25)

Louisiana Healthcare Connections has identified an issue impacting the new configuration for specialized behavior health claims that are billed with the new provider specialty codes (HO, HM, and HN). This issue has resulted in the unintentional denial of certain claims with the explanation codes EXZC and/or EX7X.

To address this matter, we will correct our system configuration and recycle any impacted claims billed with appropriate modifiers within the next 15 calendar days. No action is required from the provider, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to resolve this issue.
