Implementation of the New 2026 HCPCS Codes (IB26-8)

Louisiana Healthcare Connections is sharing with providers the recent posting of the 2026 HCPCS Codes (iB26-08).

Note: This Informational Bulletin replaces Informational Bulletin 26-2.

The Louisiana Medicaid fee-for-service (FFS) claims processing system will be updated to include the new 2026 Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes for services rendered on or after January 1, 2026. Providers can expect to see the new HCPCS procedure codes displayed on the Professional Services, Outpatient Hospital, and Ambulatory Surgery (hospital and non-hospital) fee schedules following the auto-refresh on April 10, 2026.

Claims denied due to the use of the new 2026 codes prior to their addition to the claims processing system will be systematically recycled with no action necessary by the provider.

In compliance with Sections 2.18.9.3 through 12.18.9.5 of the Louisiana Medicaid Managed Care Organization Model Contract: Louisiana Healthcare Connections will updateour claims processing system to incorporate the 2026 HCPCS updates within 30 days of the published Louisiana Medicaid fee schedule(s). Impacted claims will be  recycled within 15 days of completing our procedure file revisions.
