Peer Support Specialist Supervisor Training Application Deadline June 5, 2023

Louisiana Healthcare Connections is sharing an exciting announcement from the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH). OBH has partnered with The Extra Mile Region IV to offer the newly developed LA Core Peer Support Specialist Supervisor Training. This training is for anyone who directly supervises or directly works with Peer Support Specialists to complete an application to participate in this valuable training.

OBH recently developed our LA Core Peer Support Specialist Training and began offering that training to peers in the fall of 2022. The new Peer Support Specialist training has brought tremendous clarity in the role, purpose and value of utilizing a LA Recognized Peer Support Specialist, along with very positive feedback from the Peer Support Specialist. 

This Peer Support Specialist Supervisor Training will be held virtually, Monday, June 26 and Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Space is limited and the deadline for submission of application is Monday, June 5, 2023.

There are two prerequisites training modules that are required in order to attend the actual training. These modules can be taken at your own time and pace prior to the live instructor-led training via Zoom. These modules take about two (2) hours each and should be completed by Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Once accepted for this training, you will receive the links to the pre-training modules.
