LAFAYETTE GENERAL HEALTH, LOUISIANA HEALTHCARE CONNECTIONS PARTNER TO BRING TELEHEALTH APP TO MEMBERS

Lafayette, La. – Effective immediately, Louisiana Healthcare Connections members ages three and up in the Acadiana region may begin using Lafayette General Health’s (LGH) Health Anywhere app to access medical care from existing providers.

Launched in September 2019, Health Anywhere is a telehealth app that enables users to communicate in real time with local healthcare providers via any device with an Internet connection. These providers deliver diagnoses, treatment plans and, when appropriate, prescriptions, within minutes. No appointment is necessary, and care is available for common conditions such as colds and flu, rashes, allergies, sinus infections, sore throats, fevers and more. Patients may also use Health Anywhere to discuss any COVID-19 symptoms with a provider to determine next steps.

Louisiana Healthcare Connections members may begin using Health Anywhere by downloading the free app in the Apple App Store or Google Play and entering the required information to create a patient profile. Users will then select  their existing healthcare provider to be connected via video chat. All prescriptions will be sent to the user’s designated pharmacy for pick-up. There is no cost to members of Louisiana Healthcare Connections to use Health Anywhere.

Louisiana Healthcare Connections members who are already seeing physicians within the LGH network will be able to link their medical records to their Health Anywhere profile so that their health information is readily available to their provider during their visit.
