Louisiana Mission of Mercy Gearing Up For Dental Care Clinic At The Cajundome

Dr. Lance Savoie and Rebecca Bordelon, joined News15 at Noon to share the details on their upcoming dental clinic for the community. The Louisiana Mission of Mercy is a temporary dental clinic that provides free quality dental care to underserved communities by utilizing licensed dentists and lay volunteers from across the nation.

Delta Dental and Louisiana Healthcare Connections are the main sponsors for this event.

The Louisiana Dental Association and LDA Foundation will host a Mission of Mercy (LaMOM) charity dental clinic on August 11 and 12 to provide free dental care to about 1,500 patients.

The event relies on the efforts of approximately 1,000 volunteer dentists, hygienists, assistants, students and community workers from across the state of Louisiana.

The doors to the Cajundome & Convention Center at 444 Cajundome Blvd. Lafayette, LA 70506, will open at 6 a.m. each day. Treatment will be given on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Services will include: exams, x-rays, dental cleanings, fillings, anterior root canals, extractions and front teeth transitional partials. Adults and children are invited to participate.

There are no eligibility or income requirements. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Residents from all parishes are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
