Love Heals: Free dental, vision & health services at Baton Rouge Free Clinic

Area residents will be able to see doctors, dentists and optometrists for free at the Baton Rouge Free Clinic this month. No pre-qualifications are necessary to receive services at the clinic, and all ages are welcome. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

When: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Friday, March 15, and 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Saturday, March 16

Where: Baton Rouge Airport Multiplex Building, 4400 Airpark Blvd., Baton Rouge

Services will include:

  • DENTAL: Cleaning, fillings, extractions, partial plates
  • VISION: Complete dilated eye exams, testing for glaucoma, testing for diabetic retinopathy, glasses made off-site and ready for pickup with 6-8 weeks
  • MEDICAL: General medicine, physicals
  • EDUCATION: Educational resources and information

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment?

No. This is a free, walk-in clinic. People will be seen on a first come, first served basis. To receive services, simply show up at the Baton Rouge Airport Multiplex Building and wait in line.

How do I get into the clinic?

To get into the clinic, you will need a color wristband. These wristbands will be distributed to the people in line outside the clinic. To get a wristband, you will need to be present when they are handed out. Wristbands will start being handed out about one hour before the clinic start time.

What time do I need to show up to get a wristband?

Wristbands will start being handed out about one hour before the clinic start time. The clinic start time is 7 a.m. on both days. Wristbands will only be distributed to the people who are physically present in line when they are being handed out.

How early can I get in line?

Many people begin lining up the evening before to help ensure they will be seen at the clinic. If you would like to do this, please remember that your comfort is your responsibility. There will not be any services or staff to assist you overnight.

How long will I have to wait to get services?

There is no set waiting time. Once you are inside the clinic, expect to be there for at least three hours and plan accordingly.

Can anyone attend?

Yes. All ages are welcome, and there are no pre-qualifications. The clinic is open to the public.

Do I need to bring identification?

You do not need proof of insurance, income, ID or immigration status. Everyone can receive services. Services will be provided on first come, first served basis.

I need dental, vision and health services. can i get all three?

Due to time constraints, please be prepared to choose between dental and vision services. All attendees have the option of getting dental and medical care, OR vision and medical care, but not dental and vision care on the same day.

Can I bring food with me?

Yes. You and your family may have a long day at the clinic. You are welcome to bring food and water. Please try to bring food that will not negatively impact your blood sugar level or blood pressure, as these may be screened as part of the health services you might receive.

Can I bring a chair?

Yes, you may bring a chair to sit in as you wait in line in the morning hours. Once you get inside, there will be designated areas with seating. You may also bring items to help you pass the time, like a book. If you will have small children with you, consider bringing small toys for them.

How should I dress?

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Remember, you will likely be waiting outside until the clinic gates open, so please check the weather to make sure you are dressed appropriately.

Should I bring my medications?

Yes. Please bring all of the medications that you take every day. You should take the medications as you normally would.

Will childcare be available?

All ages are welcome at the clinic, but childcare will not be provided. Children cannot be left alone or with a volunteer. Volunteers are not allowed to supervise children while parents are receiving services. Children must be with a family member or guardian at all times.
