Making Accessibility Visible: Complete the Provider Accessibility Initiative
Date: 03/18/26
Louisiana Healthcare Connections is committed to ensuring equitable access to care for all Medicaid members. Network providers are expected to support physical accessibility, reasonable accommodations, culturally competent communication, and accessible medical equipment for members with physical or mental disabilities. Providers are required to offer hours of operation that are no less than those available to commercial members, or comparable to Medicaid fee‑for‑service (FFS) for providers serving only Medicaid members, to help reduce barriers to care and support better health outcomes.
We ask providers to complete the Provider Accessibility Initiative (PAI), which allows practices to self‑report available accessibility features through the secure Provider Portal. This information is shared in the Find‑a‑Provider directory, helping members and care managers more easily identify providers who can meet specific accessibility needs.
We appreciate your continued partnership and cooperation in supporting accessible, high‑quality care for our members.
