Prior Authorization for Non-invasive and Invasive Ventilators (IB 22-25)

Louisiana Healthcare Connections would like to share with providers effective September 1, 2022, prior authorization for all non-invasive and invasive ventilators may be for a period of 12 months.

Prior authorization criteria published in the DME Provider Manual on www.lamedicaid.com will remain unchanged. This includes the use of a rental trial period of up to three months when deemed necessary.

Louisiana Healthcare Connections is in the process of updating our systems for this new criteria.
