Why should I become an ACE Educator?

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) is the term used to describe types of abuse, neglect, and other traumatic childhood experiences. The landmark Kaiser ACE Study links the short and long term effects of these experiences to a multitude of health and social problems throughout the lifespan. The scope of the ACE Study, and its health and economic implications, make it an ideal platform for facilitating collaboration between diverse people, organizations, and service sectors working to improve health and wellbeing across the lifespan. As an ACE Educator, you will play a key role in spreading the word about this important research and establishing a common language and vision for change.

Who should apply?

  • Representatives of all professional fields and communities
  • People with professional, personal, or lived experience with childhood adversity, resilience, and systems that interact with children and families
  • Those with an interest in ongoing learning about Adverse Childhood Experiences, educating others about ACEs, and working to build community resilience.

This local cohort of ACE Educators will support a larger coordinated effort stretching across systems to increase resilience to prevent and mitigate the effects of ACEs in communities throughout Louisiana.
