Rehabilitation Therapy Services (IB 18-5 revised 11.28.23)

Louisiana Healthcare Connections is sharing a revision to IB 18-5: Rehabilitation Therapy Services made on November 28, 2023. Additions are in italics.

An individual speech therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist or therapy group may contract with a Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) or enroll in Fee-for-Service (FFS) as provider to deliver services to Medicaid beneficiaries.   

Speech therapy, physical therapy and occupational therapy services can be provided to Medicaid beneficiaries of any age and without restrictions to place of service. 

Therapists enrolled with Louisiana Medicaid as Early Steps providers may continue to provide services to the Early Steps recipients through FFS Medicaid only. Early Steps services are carved out of managed care coverage.
