2019-18: LMHPs invited to apply for free TF-CBT training

Licensed Mental Health Providers (LMHPs) who serve Louisiana Healthcare Connections members in the foster case system are invited to apply for free Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) training.
When: May 1-2, 2019
Where: Willis Knighton Health Center, 2400 Hospital Drive, Bossier City, La.
About the Training
TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma that includes the participation of their parents or caregivers. Research shows that TF-CBT successfully resolves a broad array of emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with single, multiple and complex trauma experiences.
Louisiana Healthcare Connections will cover the cost of the training, including all training materials necessary for the program. Participants accepted into the program will be responsible for the costs of their own travel, lodging and meals while attending the two-day training.
Eligibility Criteria
Clinicians must meet all eligibility criteria to attend. Eligible providers:
- Must be enrolled in, or actively engaged in the credentialing process for, the Louisiana Healthcare Connections provider network.
- Must be actively treating children and adolescents in foster care.
- Must hold a Master’s degree or above in a mental health discipline.
- Must hold professional licensure in the state of Louisiana, or be a registered intern under supervision.
Benefits of Completing the Training
The course is certified for 14.5 clinical contact hours of continuing education credit by the National Association of Social Workers-Louisiana Chapter as authorized by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners. Participants who successfully complete the training will also be eligible to move forward with National Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy certification, as this course completes the live, two-day training requirement for that certification.
