Act 304: Changes to CPST and PSR Services (revised IB 22-22 on 12.8.22)

Louisiana Healthcare Connections is sharing with providers the recent passing and signing of Senate Bill 213 by the Louisiana Legislature and Governor John Bel Edwards of Act 503. Certain requirements in Act 503 require federal approval by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) via revisions to Louisiana’s Medicaid State Plan.

Changes to CPST and PSR Services revision include:

  • LDH received approval from CMS with an effective date of January 1, 2023. As of January 1, 2023, providers must meet all requirements associated with Act 503. 
  • Every CPST and PSR provider Providers should is highly encouraged to reach out to the managed care entities (MCE) with whom they are contracted to submit the necessary credentialing updates, which includes but may not be limited to staff rosters, to ensure there is no disruption to services and reimbursement. Questions regarding the information required by each individual MCE should also be directed to the appropriate MCE. Claims may be denied if providers are not fully updated with the MCEs prior to implementation on January 1, 2023.
