Guide to Updating a Practitioner Roster for MHR Providers

Beginning October 1, 2018, all practitioners rendering Mental Health Rehabilitation (MHR) services through an organization must bill with their individual NPI number in Box 24J on the CMS-1500 (HCFA). 

MHR providers must submit updated rosters to Louisiana Healthcare Connections when any new practitioners are hired, when a practitioner’s employment has been terminated, or if any changes need to be made to a practitioner’s information. This information should be submitted on a monthly basis.

The behavioral health facility roster template can be downloaded here (Excel). Updated rosters may be emailed to LHC_PROVIDER_CREDENT@CENTENE.COM.

Please Note: This policy took effect August 1, 2018. Claims submitted without an individual NPI will be denied beginning October 1, 2018. This requirement is Louisiana Healthcare Connections policy and is separate from Act 582.
