Get your annual checkup, at no cost to you

Every year, you can go to an annual checkup with your doctor at no cost to you. Even if you are healthy, this checkup is important. At the appointment, your doctor may:

  • Discuss your health history and lifestyle
  • Measure your height and weight
  • Check your blood pressure and pulse
  • Examine your skin, abdomen, heart, and lungs
  • Discuss any concerns you have about your physical and mental health
  • Order blood tests to check for things like blood sugar or cholesterol
  • Help ensure you get the screenings you need, such as colonoscopy or mammogram
  • Review and update your vaccinations, as needed

Short on time? No problem. Let the doctor come to you with a virtual care option. While certain screenings can’t be completed virtually, you can still talk with your doctor about how you have been feeling. This is a good time to talk with them about even small things you don’t think are a problem. Or talk with them about support for stress and anxiety.

Your Primary Care Provider (PCP) is the doctor you see on a regular basis. You should see your PCP for your annual checkup and if you have a non-urgent medical issue. You do not have to go to the Emergency Room (ER) or urgent care for basic medical care.

Your Primary Care Provider will:

  • Make sure that you get the right care
  • Give you regular checkups
  • Write prescriptions for medicines and supplies when you are sick
  • Tell you if you need to see a specialist

Urgent care is a good option if your doctor isn’t able to see you as quickly as you need for an urgent issue. Or if you need care after your doctor’s office is closed. This could be for something like a minor break, sprain or cut.

You should call 911 or go to the Emergency Room (ER) in emergency situations. Some examples are a severe allergic reaction, chest pains or difficulty breathing. If it’s not an emergency, you’ll save time by going to your doctor or urgent care.

You have the option to change who your doctor is. Just review the in-network providers. Then you can log in to your Member Portal account to change your doctor. You also have the option to call us at 1-866-595-8133.
